"I have had to put 4 dogs down before Mickey. Our vets were...Well...they did what they could but the setting and the awful disturbance of going to the clinic...of disturbing my beloved dogs at such a time...even if the vets had been able to come to the house, it would not have been the same. You had come to us. For one reason only: You came to help us." - Anne Desmond, Creve Coeur
We will discuss your questions and concerns about the timing and procedure over the phone prior to scheduling your appointment. We will also discuss when and where the euthanasia will take place, who you would like to be present, what to expect, and how you would like the remains to be handled.
We want to keep your pet as comfortable as possible during their final moments. We will administer a combination of medications to help your pet relax and relieve any pain they may be experiencing. Your pet will be peaceful and comfortable, maybe even snoring, after the medication takes effect.
After your pet is sedated and when you are ready, we will administer the euthanasia solution. We will listen to the heart and let you know when your dear friend had passed. You may take additional time, if you wish, to say good-bye or to reflect on the moments you shared together before we transport them for cremation. If you have chosen private cremation, I will personally deliver your pets ashes to you.
