“On April 28, 2026 my sweet Emily 12.5 yrs old was at home when she was put  down by Dr. Laura Kee, DVM. She was assisted by a veterinarian nurse. They came in and made me and my family feel very comfortable with this sad situation. We had a great conversation about dogs and their love and companionship, laugh a little and cried a little. They answered all our questions since this was the first time ever doing this. I can’t imagine doing this any other way. Emily was in her own  environment, she had no anxiety and loved all the treats. She is at peace now running with all the dogs in heaven. Thank you Dr. Kee for putting me and my family at peace.” - Barb Fletcher, St. Louis County

Consultation

We will discuss your questions and concerns about the timing and procedure over the phone prior to our visit. We will also discuss when and where the euthanasia will take place, who you would like to be present, what to expect, and how you would like the remains to be handled.

Sedation

We want to keep your pet as comfortable as possible during their final moments. We will administer a combination of medications to help your pet relax and relieve any pain they may be experiencing. Your pet will be peaceful and comfortable, maybe even snoring, after the medication takes effect.

Euthanasia

After your pet is sedated and when you are ready, we will administer the euthanasia solution. We will listen to the heart and let you know when your dear friend had passed. You may take additional time, if you wish, to say good-bye or to reflect on the moments you shared together before we transport them for cremation. If you have chosen private cremation, we will personally deliver your pets ashes to you.
